The University:
The University of Wyoming is the state's only provider of baccalaureate and graduate education, research, and outreach services.
UW combines major-university benefits and small-school advantages, with more than 180 programs of study, an outstanding faculty, and world-class
research facilities all set against the idyllic backdrop of southeastern Wyoming's rugged mountains and high plains. The main campus is located
in Laramie, approximately two hours north of Denver. The university also maintains the UW/Casper College Center, nine outreach education centers
across Wyoming, and Cooperative Extension Service centers in each of the state's 23 counties and on the Wind River Indian Reservation.
The University of Wyoming is one of the nation's premier research universities. With 180 areas of study, they provide incredible opportunities.
Yet the enrollment is small enough that every student can get personally involved and make a difference. UW defines "New Thinking"
in education. Students are introduced to the University and to the purpose and philosophy behind higher education in our society. They are
provided with information and experiences geared toward their academic success. The course provides a secure learning environment as well
as small-group interactions. Finally, students receive assistance and information to aid them in their successful transition to University
life.
