The University:
Marshall was founded in 1837 and named for United States Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall. With nearly 80,000 alumni
in all 50 states and many other countries, Marshall has a record of service and a heritage of pride. But today Marshall is focusing on the
future. Under its 21st Century motto --"Owning the Opportnity" -- Marshall has rededicated itself to high quality education and
technological sophistication. Marshall University is West Virginia's oldest
