The
College:
Dana is a Christian community, founded by
Danish Lutherans but welcoming people of all ethnic and religious backgrounds. Here students encounter a teaching faculty second to none.
Here students become more literate, better prepared than most college graduates. Our nearly 100% placement in jobs, graduate and professional
schools is not surprising to me. Students gain communication competencies, knowledge, practical skills, and courage to assume responsibility
for whatever needs to be done. Innovative courses like our Liberal Arts Reading Program (LARP) make Dana students and faculty among the most
literate anywhere. Dana grads are prepared for lifelong learning.
Although we are a Lutheran college, the majority of our students are not
Lutheran. We celebrate this diversity. Even in our small and friendly enviornment of 560 students, our students are exposed to different ideas,
cultures and beliefs. Our small community is very active. Dana College believes in learning through participation and developing students
into the community leaders of tomorrow. More than 65 percent of our student body participates in varsity athletics or intramural sports. Our
student groups run from community service organizations to film appreciation to groups that no one is quite sure how to categorize them.
