The University:
Pfeiffer University is a comprehensive United Methodist-related university, with multiple campuses and delivery systems,
committed to educational excellence, service, and scholarship. Within nurturing communities of learners, we value diversity and promote the
attainment of full academic and personal potential through accessible undergraduate and graduate programs. It is the vision of the university
that our students embrace the Christian values of human dignity, integrity, and service as they become servant leaders and lifelong learners.
Pfeiffers emphasis for the 2002-2003 academic year continues to be servant leadership. The three areas through which the University
seeks to provide personal growth and academic knowledge for our students are Christian service, service or engaged learning, and co-curricular
development. Pfeiffers Bonner Leaders program, through which students receive educational scholarships based on hours of community service,
is the largest in the country. Our students participate in a variety of community service projects throughout the year, including tutoring
and mentoring at area schools, building Habitat for Humanity homes, volunteering at area nursing homes, and providing service to any number
of local non-profit agencies. Many of our students also participate in alternative spring break mission trips, which last year took students
to Honduras and Belize to conduct mission-based projects.
