The College:
Sheldon Jackson College has several majors leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree or a Bachelor of Science degree, a variety
of academic programs leading to an Associate of Arts degree or an Associate of Science degree, and a certificate program. Our small classes
emphasize both theory and application. The campus community serves approximately 250 full and part time students. The 13:1 student-faculty
ratio enables the students and distinguished faculty to meet in a small, personal, interactive learning environment. Sheldon Jackson College
is fully accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, and is authorized to offer courses in Alaska by the Alaska Commission
on Postsecondary Education. The Teacher Education programs are certified by the National Association for State Directors of Teacher Education
Colleges (NASDTEC).
The small community and unique location of Sheldon Jackson College provide opportunities for involvement that you won't be able to find anywhere
else in the country. Students are regularly involved in both indoor and outdoor activities that prepare them for leadership and service. The
Department of Student Life serves to advance and encourage the learning and personal development of students through co- and extra- curricular
activities.
